The business was sold last year and the two companions– father and son – these days are spending happy and leisure time together The Nicholson family started the Eastern Propane business and some time ago Bob passed responsibilities of running it to his son, Rob Nicholson. A member of the BHS Class of 1949, she was the class secretary, served on the student council and sang in the school choir and glee club. The past year has been a most difficult time for Bob – with the necessity to cope with the passing of his wife Shirley Kitchell Nicholson. He said he is looking forward to again being at this year’s Florida reunion.Īpproaching his 90th birthday in May, Nicholson is currently focused on finishing a book telling the story of his life. He graduated 73 years ago in the Class of 1945. Therefore Bob went to Butler for his high school education. The township was a sending district to BHS. A longtime resident of Sparta he grew up in the Oak Ridge section of the Township of West Milford. Robert Nicholson was the earliest class representative at last year’s reunion luncheon in Sarasota. The students came from a large area surrounding Butler and today these communities have been established as townships and boroughs and have built their own high schools.
